About Lefkada

Set in the Ionian sea of Greece Lefkada (Lefkas) still is not that well known as it’s bigger northern neighbour Corfu. Thus, it is still spared out from masstourism, even though it is probably the most diverse island you can find. Reaching from numerous sandy or pebbled beaches with crystal clear turquoise water, either kilometers long (i.e. Gialos, Milos) or surrounded by huge white cliffs (i.e. Egrimni, Porto Katsiki, Agiofili). The latter is how the island received it’s name (Lefkas = ancient greek = The White).

Having nearly a daily 100% wind guaranty in the summer month (July, August) as well as shallow water conditions Vassiliki’s bay is ideal for windsurfing and catamaran lessons (i.e. humansports). Apart from that Vassiliki has a very layed back and charming atmosphere with small shops, two very good bakerys, in the harbour below old plane trees you will find lots of restaurants directly at the water.
Leaving the coast you can explore the land via empty tracks through mountains up to 1158 meters or through the different even in the summer green valleys – either by feet, bicycle, scooter, quad, car or even horse – all you can rent in Vassiliki itself.
Having the feeling you want to see another island - the port of Vassiliki provides every day boat connections to Kefalonia and Ithaki.
